My Journey
From my beginnings, the journey of my life has always led me to meeting grounds where I connect with others, assist them in connecting to one another and finally, help them to connect perfectly with themselves. Personally, I, too, seek these connections where all things wonderful coalesce to form something greater.
It’s no wonder as my very name in this world—Seleka—pronounced Séléka, means ALLIANCE, COALITION, UNITY, MANNERS AND PEACE ON EARTH in African and Native American languages. Under these banners, I have developed my passion:
I help others who have become separated from their true selves to reconnect with their inner passions and intuition. More than a vision, my purpose is to learn, to grow and to develop my understanding of our creator’s amazing system of order, dichotomy and beauty. Only as my understanding of these elusive elements expands can I fulfill my life’s intentions: serving with a loving heart, a keen curiosity and a reliable spirit.
As with most important journeys, I encountered challenges and tests along the way. I have only begun to understand their roles in the adventure of my life. Only a few weeks before starting medical school, arthritis was discovered in the base of my spine. I am in recovery of this compound diagnosis: Fibromyalgia, arthritis, metabolic syndrome, PCOS, PTSD, neuropathy, and spinal stenosis. With most tests, profound lessons emerge when the seeker's heart is prepared. These diagnoses have led me to deeper study within and have brought me closer to understanding the science behind our mind-body connection. I became blessed with empathy and developed a hunger for helping others find relief from suffering. I take no prescription pharmaceuticals to manage these conditions, and I want to help others manage their life holistically.
Over the past decade of formal education, I have collected knowledge in a host of practices that transcend healing and building the body, mind and spirit. With grace and fervor, I seek to apply these practices and others—singly and in combination—to fulfill my life’s intention.
